- Nightjar Guided Walk

Meet at end of Raiders Road, Mossdale, Newton Stewart
Join Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) and RSPB Scotland on a twilight walk to listen out for and perhaps even see, the elusive nightjar. A chance to learn about their ecology and hear about the important work being done to conserve the Dumfries & Galloway population, the last in Scotland. Midge repellent and nets highly recommmended.

Walk with the RSPB Community Liaison Officer to the bird hides in the Ken Dee Marshes reserve to see Red Kites and wildfowl here for the winter. Learn more about the work being done in and around the reserve for these species. Please bring warm clothing, waterproofs and stout footwear. Sorry no dogs.
