The McMillan Challenge
Lovers of the great Scottish outdoors are facing a tough new challenge - The McMillan ...
McMillan Hotels have launched their own three part sporting day out involving a game of curling, an 18 hole round of golf and 2 miles of mountain biking - all to be completed in 24 hours.
"Scotland has tremendous leisure attractions, it seemed logical to combine three of the most popular pastimes into one adventure” said McMillan Hotels Director Douglas McMillan.
“Curling, golf and mountain biking each demand varying skills and physical and mental abilities. Together they pose a hard but thoroughly enjoyable day out with a difference”.
The North West Castle was the first hotel in the world to have its own indoor curling rink and is managed by ex-world champion Hammy McMillan Jnr.
The group is donating a trophy to the first person to successfully complete the McMillan.
Starting with curling on the indoor rink at North West Castle, then golf at either Stranraer, Glenuce or Dunskey-Portpatrick, and mountain biking on the Ae, Dalbeattie, Kirroughtree or Mabie trails in Galloway.
McMillan Hotels is offering a two nights dinner, bed & breakfast package from £149.00 per person to enable enthusiasts to try this out. Rates include curling, mountain bike hire and a round of golf.
A special weekend built around “The McMillan” will be held at the North West Castle over Easter 6 – 8 April 2007.
