Donald Steps Up To Peebles Hotel Post

Donald Innes, latterly assistant manager of the Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow, has taken over as manager of the Park Hotel in Peebles.

He spent four years at the four star, 64 bedroom city centre hotel which includes the popular Waxy O’Conner’s bar. Before that he was assistant manager of the 144 bedroom Britannia Hotel in Aberdeen where his responsibilities included organising conferences in the 500 capacity function suite, and restaurant supervisor of the AA-Rosetted restaurant at Craigellachie Hotel on Speyside.

Donald, 30, said he was delighted to be taking charge of the 24 bedroom Park Hotel, which is part of multi award-winning McMillan Hotels.

“I’m particularly fond of working in small country house hotels where managers can get to know customers and staff more easily,” he commented.

He went on: “I was impressed with the McMillan family’s philosophy of promoting outstanding customer service and continuous improvement, and felt it was just the kind of company I wanted to join.”

His move to Peebles will also give him the opportunity to indulge in two of his main leisure interests - hill walking and theatre.

“The hills around here are great for rambling and I’m keen to make use of the town’s splendid Eastgate arts centre and theatre,” he said.
