Things To Do in Stranraer
The town of Stranraer is a bustling sea port, with its ancient castle in the centre, surrounded by busy and friendly shops. It's the ideal base from which to explore the Rhins of Galloway - there's lots of things to do in Stranraer during Scottish activity holidays!
Some of Scotland's most famous gardens are in the south west, including the subtropical Logan Botanic Gardens, warmed by the gulf stream. Drive down quiet country roads to the Mull of Galloway, Scotland's most southerly point. Walk along the cliff top with views to Ireland and the Isle of Man.
There are quiet sandy beaches, wild flowers in the springtime and the cry of seabirds in the air. Ferries sail frequently from Stranraer to Belfast and day trips are easily arranged to some of Ireland's famous attractions.
