There are numerous walks through the beautiful Tweed Valley, mountain biking at the famous Glentress Forest, fishing for salmon on the Tweed, championship golf courses, stately homes such as Traquair House, the beautiful botanic gardens at Dawyck , jazz, art and music festivals and the Peebles Beltane Festival, as well as great restaurants, bars and shopping. And Edinburgh is only half an hour away for sightseeing and heritage.
Ayrshire has it all beautiful scenery both inland and coastal. There are lots of outdoor activities including walking, fishing, golfing, cycling, stargazing. If you are a keen golfer you will love to play on some of the finest golf courses in Scotland including Turnberry, Royal Troon and Prestwick. It is also an area steeped in history and you can visit ancient castles and fascinating museums especially those dedicated to Scotland’s national poet Robert Burns. There are lovely market towns throughout the region and the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh are within easy distance for a day trip.
